The vision for Vaporetto, authentic Venetian Italian restaurant in Hawthorn, was inspired by many trips to this beautiful part of the world and wanting to create something that embodies old-school hospitality filled with warmth, generosity, and charm. We were particularly drawn to Venice for the art, culture, romance, mystery, and rich, fascinating history associated with controlling the spice trail for centuries. Our chefs get to play with the likes of cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, turmeric, nutmeg, and the list goes on. Venetian food, a gem of northern Italian food, is like Italian food without rules!
